How We Met

We’ve been told we first met when Angelina was a toddler and Ben was a baby. Neither of us have any memory of this!

Throughout our childhood we grew up in the same church social circles, however as Ben was younger than Angelina and she was friends with his older sister, we were more childhood acquaintances than good friends in the early years. In our late teenage years we became better friends, but only hung out or interacted within the larger social group.

Over the years, we’ve gone on road trips (e.g. to Melbourne and Converge), many Saturday afternoon walks, and bonded over a shared love of good coffee and food.

Moving closer

Ben moved to Sydney, where Angelina had already been living, and started to come to the same church and hang out with the young adult group. We naturally saw more of each other and became closer.

Growing closer

By mid-year we were both needing to move out from where we were living and so we decided to move into a share-house with another friend.

Living together turned out to be a lot of fun and we realised we had a lot in common in how we lived, that we enjoyed spending time together, and shared our sense of humour.

First Date

Our first official date was a day trip into Sydney, enjoying good Greek food (Zeus) and walking around the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Angelina was in denial initially, and maintained that this was not an official date for a while afterwards, however with hindsight she came to reach that final state; acceptance.

Wanna be friends?

We officially started dating on the October long weekend on a trip with friends down the coast. Although we didn’t tell anyone for a few weeks, quite a few people figured it out.

The Proposal

During a trip to New Zealand, we hiked up Mt. Sunday, and when we reached the top, Ben surprised Angelina with the proposal backlit by a stunning vista of the snow-capped mountains.

Wedding Day

We can't wait to celebrate our love with all our favorite people in the world!
